Event Description:

Need to up your game with the Ontario government?

With a Conservative government now in place in Ontario, sustainability companies and advocates need to find a way to put the issues that matter to their businesses, their members and frankly to all of us back on the public and political agenda.

Joyce McLean, from McLean and Associates and Maike Althaus, from Newhaus Communications are hosting an in-depth workshop that will strengthen your advocacy and strategic communications skills in Ontario’s new political reality.

Join us to learn essential communication principles, strategies and tactics that will help put environmental and social issues back on the provincial policy agenda. This is designed to be an interactive workshop with lots of opportunity to share best practices and to network.

Together we will:

  • Explore why environmental and social values need to be a vital element of current conservative politics and why they currently aren’t

  • Examine George Lakoff’s work on political framing and its underlying principles, to help you understand how to effectively re-frame the issues, address current provincial policy makers and shift the public narrative

  • Offer you the opportunity to learn and apply concrete principles, processes and tools to your respective goals

  • Provide you with hands-on practice to help you up your advocacy game at Queen’s Park

Coffee/Tea and all workshop materials will be provided.
