Connecting Environmental Professionals Toronto is hosting a career development night for recent grads who are job hunting, those who are in a career transition, and people who are looking to accomplish more in their careers. Focusing on your online presence.

Shelly Elsliger and Rebecca Black will provide career development and personal branding advice as well as stories of their own experience working in the sector. Following we will have a Q&A and open networking. Food and drinks are included with your ticket. Thanks to Steam Whistle for sponsoring our event!

Speaker Bios

Shelly Elsliger, President & Founder Linked-Express

Based in Toronto, Shelly Elsliger is an engaging leadership development facilitator, career specialist, LinkedIn trainer, certified coach, speaker, and President and Founder of Linked-Express. She coaches executives, leaders, diverse students and job seekers, as well as teams; inspiring them to maximize their personal and professional branding potential, as well as their social influence, on LinkedIn.

Shelly is also an avid and passionate leader in Sustainability.  At John Molson School of Business, Concordia University she was the Co-Founder of the Sustainable Internship Program and a member of the Board for Sustainable Concordia and John Molson Sustainable Business.  She now continues to help students, at University of Toronto, finds jobs in sustainable business by increasing their branding potential.

Shelly is member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), A LEAD Fellow, recognized as a Woman you Need to Know in 2015 by the National Women Speakers Association, and in 2016 was awarded the Global LinkedIn Ambassador Award by the Richard Dipilla Association.

Rebecca Black, Founder Black Current Marketing

Rebecca is the founder of Black Current Marketing, a communications consultancy that works exclusively with companies and organizations developing low carbon solutions to climate change. Building on fifteen years of experience in the international music industry, and armed with a Masters degree in Business and the Environment from Schulich (York University), Ms Black has applied her project management, marketing and business development expertise to help her clients achieve their sustainability and sales goals on time, on budget and in style. 


Ms Black possesses specialized expertise in the renewable energy, social finance and sustainable built environment sectors. She is Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the capacity-building non-profit Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE), and serves on the Board of community power incubator TREC Renewable Energy Co-op.
