Climate Change Impacts to Infrastructure: Webinar

  • 11 Dec 2014
  • 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
  • Online

THIS WEBINAR IS BEING HOSTED BY THE ONTARIO CLIMATE CONSORTIUM (OCC) IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CLIMATE RESILIENT SYSTEMS TRAINING (CRST)

Scan the news for any region in the world. We see stories about climate-related impacts on infrastructure on a daily basis. Some of the impacts are inconvenient while others are unprecedented, resulting in asset loss and service interruption.

Assessing risk imposed by climate change is not yet standard design practice. When impacts from a changing climate are not considered, liability may arise for damages resulting from unmanaged risk.

As a result engineers, asset managers, and other decision-makers responsible for infrastructure design, operation, and management may be exposed personally to liability. Steps can be taken to understand the assessment of these risks and learn approaches to identify, prioritize, and reduce climate risks to infrastructure.

Join this webinar to learn about what you need to know to design, procure, operate, and manage infrastructure systems in a changing climate.
